Restaurant Industry: Noteworthy Innovations & Incentives of Virtual Brands

Outside of a global pandemic, the tourism industry is providing over USD $240 billion in revenue to the restaurant segment. The American restaurant segment employs 10% of the country’s workforce and accounts for nearly 4% of GDP. The restaurant industry can be broken down into several divisions, but the key players are Quick-Service Restaurants (QSR) and Casual Dining concepts. The author is providing insight into a leading trend in the casual dining industry, virtual brands. It is the author’s opinion, the current trend will become a continued, long-term revenue stream as shareholders will view this creation as a separate entity which maximizes current capital. The article showcases Brinker International and their creation of It’s Just Wings. It’s Just Wings, although within infancy, has proven the virtual brand can soon become a USD $150 million source of revenue. With their success, it appears an entry signal has been provided, and other concepts are testing or launching their own virtual brands.

Italian Growth of Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency

Italy has been seeing a growing interest in the use of cryptocurrency. Over the past several years, we have seen Italian goods being purchased all over the globe using the currency. So, what has caught the Italians attention? Part of the examination will seek understanding on why an Italian bank released Bitcoin trading options for their clients in the middle of a pandemic. Are we worried about cleanliness of the existing cash? Or, is the cause being driven politically? Rumours are growing in Italy to exit the European Union, similar to the United Kingdom. In this brief examination of pandemic, in addition to, renewed public distrust of the European Union, this could become the perfect storm for a new Italian currency.
