Bill Gates is the 2nd richest man in the world with a net worth of $97.9 Billion. He founded a software company called Microsoft which is one of the largest companies in the world. He retired from Microsoft as CEO in January 2000, and resigned from the active role in the company in February 2014 and started to focus his most of the time on the foundation’s work.
Bill Gates is an intelligent and arguably one of the most powerful and smart businessmen, whose approach to entrepreneurship has been considered anti-competitive. He also understands business and technology in and out which we all are aware is a deadly combination.Bill Gates also owns a company called BG3 LLC (founded in 2008) which designs and develops computer software and hardware which also aims at poverty reduction.
The basic objectives of the foundation is to provide healthcare and education. According to my thought process, BMGF will be the most powerful organization in the world in the next 15-20 years. This organization unlike other companies we see today has a unique data set which is voluminous. The data that they are generating is not of people like you and me but of people who doesn’t have resources to sustain themselves. Moreover, it has a kind of monopoly there as not even Google or Facebook is focusing on that type of data set. The foundation also gets tax exempt status as it is not a business, so most of its donations are tax exempt. The foundation, even if provide services free of cost or charges, it is sitting on huge data which can be the biggest asset for them. The foundation also has started a program to provide low cost financial services to the poor which is a huge untapped market. The way they work on a problem is also important to notice. They partner with various organizations both governmental and private or other foundations, where they can also source data (which is again huge and no body minds it) for solving problems. This is a brief account of my thinking, and I am not saying that this organization is totally corrupt or wrong. All I am saying is that there is a critical view of looking at things.
